Neighbours Helping Neighbours: LCCHub’s November Food Drive
This November, the Locally Connected Community Hub is giving back in a big way! Each of our meetups throughout the month will serve as a collection point for our annual Community Food Drive, with all proceeds supporting the incredible work of local food banks within each chapter’s community. If you’re attending a meetup in November, we invite you to bring along a non-perishable food item or a cash donation to help families in need. In 2024, our Eastbridge chapter collected 59 lbs of non-perishable food (and an amazing 149 lbs in 2023!) — and this year, we’re setting our sights higher, aiming for a collective total of 250 lbs across the Community Hub network. Let’s come together and make a meaningful difference — one can at a time!
Congrats to the Cambridge chapter for collecting 43lbs of non-perishable food for the Cambridge Food Bank during their November 3rd Meetup!

-
Sparks Action That Makes a Real Difference - From food drives to storytelling, from outdoor adventures to volunteer-powered events—supporting the community hub helps create a culture of care, generosity, and purpose where everyone plays a role.
What the Blue Jays Teach Us About the Power of Community
When the Toronto Blue Jays took Canada on an unforgettable postseason run, they reminded us what true community feels like — unity, pride, and shared joy. Across the country, fans came together in living rooms, public squares, and sports bars, connected by one common thread: hope. In many ways, that’s the same spirit the Locally Connected Community Hub is built on. Just as the Jays bring together people from coast to coast through sport, our Community Hub brings neighbours, businesses, and residents together locally — building connections, fostering inclusion, and strengthening the communities we call home. This story celebrates how the Blue Jays’ ability to unite a nation mirrors the work we’re doing right here in southern Ontario to create belonging and togetherness, one meetup at a time.

Testimonial
Earlier this month, I attended my first Locally Connected Community Hub meetup, and I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — but I was pleasantly surprised! I loved the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and how easy it was to make genuine connections at my own pace. It didn’t feel forced or rushed like other networking events where you only have a minute to talk about your business. The fact that it’s free to attend makes it even more accessible, and I’m so glad I came out. I met some wonderful people, and I've already signed up for the next one!
