“Every now and then, if you’re really lucky, you find a group of people who don’t just brighten your day — they heal parts of you that you didn’t even know needed healing. That’s exactly what the beautiful souls at the Locally Connected Community Hub (LCCHub) have done for me.
Last night, I joined yet another wonderful LCCHub gathering — this time, a “make, take and connect” Canada flag workshop in partnership with Home Depot Waterloo. The room was full of laughter, conversation, and so many smiling faces. It was such a simple thing, but it filled my heart to the brim.
I have to take a moment to thank Jason Kipfer — the heart behind this whole community. I don’t think he fully realizes the ripple effect of what he’s built. It’s more than just events — it’s a safe place, a chosen family, and a reminder that none of us are alone.
Some days are really heavy for me. Life can feel overwhelming, but these meet-ups — and the incredible people who show up — remind me that it’s okay to just be. They give me something to look forward to, a reason to get out of my head and into a room full of kindness, laughter, and genuine connection.
