Our History

The Locally Connected Community Hub (LCCHub) began in January 2017 as a simple idea: bringing neighbours together over a casual gathering at a local pub. What started as a small initiative has grown into the largest and fastest-growing grassroots networking collective with over 2,000 participants. Despite its growth, LCCHub has stayed true to its roots as a community-driven initiative dedicated to fostering connections and strengthening the fabric of our communities.

Today, LCCHub operates through seven active chapters across Waterloo, Woolwich, Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph, and Stratford, serving as a catalyst for community development. Our vision is to make the communities we serve more inclusive, safe, and welcoming places to live, work, play, and shop. Participants come from all walks of life—entrepreneurs, stay-at-home parents, retirees, young professionals, and those looking to feel more connected to their neighbours. Through casual networking events, outdoor activities, and creative gatherings, LCCHub makes it easy for people to build meaningful relationships that enrich their personal and professional lives.

Building a Stronger Community, Together

At the Locally Connected Community Hub, we believe that connection is at the heart of everything. When we build meaningful relationships with our neighbours, we unlock the power of community—transforming individual interactions into a collective force that supports everyone. Our Meetups are designed to encourage these vital connections, helping to foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose, while also supporting the vibrancy and growth of our local neighbourhood.

Our Meetups are perfect for those who want to:

  • Cultivate an inclusive and collaborative community where everyone feels welcome and valued;
  • Support local businesses and merchants, helping them thrive as an essential part of our neighbourhood and local community;
  • Connect with neighbours, learn about the companies they work for, and discover the products and services they represent and sell; and
  • Strengthen ties within the community, creating a network of support, opportunity, and shared growth.
By coming together, we’re making our community a better place for everyone. Join us and help shape a stronger, more connected community!

Investing in our Community

Beyond connecting people, LCCHub believes in giving back. From organizing food drives and donating toys during the holidays to raising funds for school breakfast programs and supporting Canadian Blood Services, we are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of those around us. By encouraging relationship-building as the foundation for personal and business growth, we ensure that our communities thrive in every sense of the word.

Local Economic Impact

We're proud to foster local economic growth through the power of connection and community. By holding monthly Meetups at varying business establishments, we not only provide fresh and exciting venues for attendees but also encourage residents to explore these businesses—many of them for the first time. These events bring positive direct and indirect economic impacts, benefiting both independent shop owners and the community at large. Our approach is rooted in old-fashioned business development: relationship building. People buy from those they know and trust, so we prioritize meaningful connections and let business opportunities unfold organically.

Testimonial

“I had the pleasure of attending my second Eastbridge Business Connections event at The Chill Bar & Grill on October 30, 2023, and it was a full house. The event provided an outstanding networking opportunity with local businesses. The venue was buzzing with professionals eager to connect and explore potential collaborations. It's clear that this event has earned its reputation as a prime networking platform in the community. If you're looking to expand your local business network and seize new opportunities, don't miss the next one. It's a packed event with remarkable networking opportunities.”
